go for the ebc red stuff ceramic pads with turbo groove discs - they work awesome on the scoobies!
i have had mine on for nearly 2 years.. and done track days.. and they are still mint!!
mine is a classic 93 wrx import..

Change the fluid to either motul rbf600 or a dot 5.1 and change the hoses to s.s braided ones. This will dramatically change brake feel and you will not get a spongy feeling either. Not a great fan of ebc stuff, better of getting mintex or ferodo pads (m1144/55 or ds2000/2500 respectfully) and as for discs, I had the grooved prodrive ones on my classic with the above upgrades and they were awesome. Pagid 8 or 16 groove discs are excellent as well.
