Default Which disc and pad combo

Upgrading from 2 pots to 4 pots on my 94 wrx. so which disc and pad combo to go for? it's not much over standard power so the 4 pots will make a huge difference, was even thinking with just going for standard discs and pads to suit the 4 pots???

cheers,

matt.

have heard a few people running these on various cars. will look into prices. have you still got standards on the rear? i need all round. have been using ceramic pads and they've chewed my discs up with the aid of some late braking

Careful there mate, ive heard mixed opinions on the EBC stuff, however a frind of mine uses his car everyday and tracks the car alot, nurbugring, bedford, brands etc.

He runs stock discs with EBC yellowstuff and they work very very well even from cold on the road.

EBC aint all bad IMO

dunno mate, its strange some people i know have said similar things but as said, brakes failed on the chap sunday so to be honest i'd stay well clear, better safe than sorry.

also yellow stuff are pure track pads and only work about temmps of 280 degrees c. (so i've been told)

got ferodo something or others on mine lol fds or fps or something pmsl

i've got redstuffs with standard discs at the moment. haven't missed a beat. just that the stardard discs aren't up to the spec of the pad. superb stopping power though.

tis very strange y they fail on some people and not others, might be a number of reasons, part failure, drivers style of driving etc etc

No expert but I used TSL group N disks for a couple of years with the ferrodo DS2500 pads on MY99 and was really pleased with the improvements.
I recall they lasted at least as long as OEM equivalents and costed about the same.

Standard pads and disks will be fine for the road. For occasional track use run DS2500 with standard disks. Leave thr rears standard.

Note the difference in the EBC pad compounds mentioned, RED and YELLOW that's like comparing Ferodo DS2000 to DS3000 .

Red are OK as a road pad but sh1te for track use whereas the Yellows are very good and IMHO provide better bite than the reds. The Yellows have been R rated for some time now so are not track only pads as some would have you believe.
I'm not a great fan of EBC themselves, frankly their operations stink but their green pad is just as good as the OE Subaru pad with less dust emmision and their Yellow pad is a very very good, hard wearing and inexpensive alrounder.
