EBC Brakes still rubbing ?
Hello guy's , got a small problem
I Had a set of front EBC disks ( grooved/ dimpled) & red pads fitted a few weeks ago .
Now they are working fine but i can hear a rubbing noise from them , i thought this would go after i had ran them in a bit but done well over 1000 mile now & i can still hear them Is there anything i can do to stop this or are these disks / pads known for makeing a noise ( BTW it seems louder when warm )
TIA

Had the same issue with EBC fitted to my RB5 Scotty.
I too had the redstuff pads and EBC turbogroove discs. There was a thread on here a while back about EBC Redstuff making these noises when fitted to their grooved disc, so you're not alone in what you've found. At the time I just accepted that this was one of the features of this pad/disc combination. I know my std calipers were always pretty poor (some of the pistons were partially seized) so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it but I've upgraded to AP 6pots now with grooved discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads and I get no such noises with this pad/disc/caliper combo. I never rated the Redstuff too highly tbh, the DS2500 are much better pads IMO, although while the Redstuff generate little or no brake dust, the Ferodos are a nightmare!

I have Black Diamond combi discs and the EBC red pads and they have rubbed for the best part of 1k miles now, but are now (finally) getting quieter. (Running 18's on a 1998 classic turbo).

I have been running red stuff pads on standard Brembo discs for 12 months with no noise and fine braking. Changed to EBC grooved and dimpled disks along with SS hoses about 500 miles ago. Braking has improved although I am getting the noises, and like described, are even noisier when warm.
May change to Ferodo pads. I am just accepting that the noise is a characteristic of this set up.
