Default steel rims for a classic?

any idea if these are available and if so how much...prefrable 17's so they fit over godspeed 335 conversion.

having thought a little more about this, i've decided i want 16's...anyone any ideas?

I believe 16" steel rims from Mk4 Golf or Bora should fit. I bought some for winter use but haven't actually got round to using them yet!

any chance you could try them for me...I'm trying to sort out a front brake upgrade but don't know how big I can go

Should be fine over 4 pots (as that's what I have) not sure about bigger discs.
I use prodrive discs and ........pads (can't remember) but they do stop well, and this is on my hillclimb/sprint car with no servo.

thanks Martin, how does the offset look as I've been told by a Vdubber that its too much and the rims will stick out?
