Default EBC Redstuff squeak like mad. What to do?

Hi everyone,

Is there anything to do about this? I have tried braking hard a few times and it didn't make any differense. The squeaking seems to be worse when the breaks get a bit warm (won't sound as much cold).

/Peter

Ok.. But it wouldn't feel good to throw away almost new pads.. Any other suggestions?

Did yours come with the self adhesive rubber backing pads? Mine did and they haven't squealed at all.
If not, get in touch with EBC and get them to send you some.

Hi mate...
You need to put a slight camber onto the leading edge of the pads....that stops them squealing.......

All Redstuff pads already have a camber on the edges.

Squeaking does seem to vary, from car to car, but I would say that it should not last any longer then 1000 miles. We have had a couple of instances with EVO's where the squeaking was not cured until after 1000 miles. This is rare and not the norm.

Typically, all squeaking noise, if present in the first place, is gone after normal bed in period, 300 to 500 miles.

Hope this helps.
