I understand the many other benefits but wonder about an actual reduction in stopping distance.

Any variables would be appreciated (suspension, tires, pads and temps) as well. Even anecdotal (in the absence of charts) would be great. Anyone here ever end up switching to non-Ferodo pads such as Pagid or Porterfields?

Thank you,

Try Mike Wood at Prodrive.......email at MWood@prodrive.com

I have the Alcon`s on the P1 but can not comment on your question -did test drive both the standard items and the Alcon`s - much better `feel`with them.

Cheers

Hi JamesAC. Welcome to ScoobyNet. The main advantage of big brake upgrades is not in reduced braking distance, but improved resistance to fade under severe conditions, like on track. Unless you are already getting fade problems on your 02 WRX, you may not notice much benefit.

Pad choice is vital. Porterfield is not known over here, but Ferodo, Pagid and Mintex all have a range of top quality pads.

Richard.
