Default Difference on goodyear tyres

hi all

i am in the process of buying goodyear tyres for my 02 STI

can some one shed some light in my question.


what is the differece in :

EAGLE F1 GS-D3 225/45 R17 91Y BSW, VSB


and

EAGLE F1 GS-D3 225/45 R17 94W XL BSW, VSB

Oh and about 1/5 a KG in weight!

It is the load rating of the tyre (how heavy the car is)
The standard 91Y is the same load rating as the RE040 tyres you originally had on your car.
This should be OK, it what I just put on mine.

I believe the tyres have a maximum inflation pressure , and the 91Y should not be inflated to more than 35psi (don't know where I read that though?)

Also the y + w are the speed ratings of the tyre. Y means the tyre will go up to 186mph and W means the car will only go up to 168 mph.
