Should I upgrade to 17" wheels and tyres or would I be better to spend the same amount on some really, really good tyres for my 16" wheels?

What would really good tyres be? Michelin Pilots?

Good tyres = Eagle F1's, Toyo Proxes T1-S, S02

Michelin Pilot = Not too great on a scoob.....

No idea 'bout your other question tho.....

You're not going to get much change from £1K for 17" wheels and tyres, so just how much did you plan on spending on 16" tyres alone.

The Bridgestone's are claimed to be the best tyre, but I'd put that more down to driving style and what kind of feedback you'd like from the tyre. Afterall it's probably the most important part that will affect the car's handling.

You can pay a lot of money and still get cr@p tyres. That's why I moved away from Pirelli PZero's to Goodyear F1's.

If it was me, I'd upgrade to 17" wheels; then you can chose between:-

Goodyear Eagle F1's
Toyo Proxies T1-S's
Bridgestone SO3's
Pirelli PZero's

Personally I'd go for some 17's with either the Eagle F1's or Toyo's.

Ah but if you are talking about Michelin Pilot Cup Sports....
seriously expensive I guess, and almost as good as slicks - definitely a track tyre. Mr Croney has some, EVO seemed to like em, and his car was lapping faster than Elises in expert hands.

Yokohama A032R`s are available in 205/50R 16 87V although I havn`t tried them on the Subaru I use them on a road / sprint / track Golf and they are totally awesome - so much more grip / control. They only have 6mm of tread when new but it`s worth it !

Not sure of prices now but have a trade contact if you require more info.

Give their Motorsport Dept. a call on 01582 471471 - I found them extremely helpful with advice on set up / pressures etc..

Cheers
