Default Bleeding Brakes

How do you completly bleed all your fluids ? Ive got some new 4 pots coming at the weekend for my 95 WRX and my fluid is filthy so say the least so just ordered a letre of Dot 5.1

Is it just the case of bleeding all the brakes untill there is nothing left in the tank or what ?

Pump the pedal until the fluid runs clean out of each channel, whilst all the time topping up the brake fluid as it drops.

Start with the N/S Rear, O/S Rear, N/S Front and finally O/S Front.

Ok thank you mate

Do you think two bottles of Ap Dot 5.1 500ml will be enough ?

Should finally have the brakes sorted then, new STi 4 pots discs, pads, and some braided brake lines

pete probably wouldn't recommend AP fluid but might be worth getting another bottle. i think i used over a litre when i flushed my system and the last thing you want to do is run out halfway through.

as pete says, top it up as you go as it'll get air in the system if it runs dry.

My Motor Factors does DOT4 COMMA at £5 per litre .... DOT4 is what Subaru state and what I therefore use.

My fluid is so clean and clear that its hard to tell when I have bled through - so 1 litre does me fine. Mine is renewed every 2 years.
