brake upgrade on a budget??help?
hi guys,im on a bit of a tight budget and am in need of new front brakes (for now) they are crap, discs are knackered.
is it worth getting grooved discs £69, ebc pads £70.
or will it be better to get oe discs from motor factor (apec) and get them grooved (how much does this cost?) and some apec pads??
looking for half decent stopping power as im running 264bhp with standard 2 pots on uk 2000 95my.
thanks in advance

I would use standard disks, no grooves or any of that rubbish, with slightly uprated pads. I had the same set up on my WRX (yes-two pots), standard motor factor Blueprint disks and Mintex 1144 pads with good results on road and track. Pads a bit dusty though.
Got DS2500 Ferodo's now with brembo calipers and they squeal like mad when just running around town - perhaps they need some exercise!

For a couple of hundred quid you could get pagid 8 grove discs, mintex m1155 pads, draided hoses and 5.1 dot fluid. I was running this on my P1 before I upgraded and was excellent for the money.
