My brothers other half has just bought a Legacy. He said that some of the tyres are just legal. He wants to know if , on a 4 wheel drive vechile, all tyres have to be changed at the same time or not? Thanks Simon

I asked this question a while back after getting an unrepairable puncture.

General opinion seemed to be that tyres on the same axle should be a similar tread depth.
