Brake pad life.....................?
Hi all, I drive a MY96 UK turbo wagon with the following:
subaru 4-pot calipres - fronts
ebc dimpled and grooved discs
ebc red stuff pads all round
Goodrich st/st braided hoses
5-dot performance brake fluid
I've never rated the pads in the slightest and have had them on the car for 13 months now. I've noticed a squeal coming from OSF brakes and can only assume it's the wear indicators doing their job although nowhere near as loud as OEM subaru pads.
A couple of questions if you don't mind:
1) What is the average life of these redstuff pads?
2) What pad is recommended to replace that's any good?
Thanx in advance.
Si.

If purchased 13 months ago, they should be the Ceramics.
The wear sensors can be prone to being bent out of shape when installing the pads. It does sound like this is happening. The wear sensor should be approx 2/3mm into the pad from the back plate.
