Question Probably been asked before.........

..........but my turn now:-)

I've just bought a set of 17" STI 8 wheels with almost new toyo r tyres for my STI 1.I know the wheels will fit but the tyres are 225/45/17.
So the question is,will these fit my MY94 STi Wagon,or will they rub?
I know 215/40/17's are considered the "right" size for a classic, then 225/45/17's for a new age.
As my budget is tight I wondered if I'd get away with it.I've not lowered the car, although I've got a few White Line goodies under there;-)

some friends use 225/45/17, they say it rubs a little bit but nothing serious.

Anyone else with a view?

I have them on my MY00 and with the 225 tyres on they rubbed at the back - swapping the rubber for 215 has given me no problems since.
