this has prob. been asked a thousand times but cant find another post???

will 225/45/17 (sti rims) fit without any problems to a 93 classic, some people have told me they will and others they wont..... so im realy confused!! (not hard)

the car is on standard set up as far as im aware, more worried if they will rub or catch the arches, normaly i have the kids in the car so thaere is weight in the back aswell

any help and advise will be apreciated

225 is too big a tread for a classic m8, they will rub against the inner arches. 215/45/17's no problems though. Or, 205/45/17, but that is too narrow really. 215/40/17's are the "right" size for a classic, then 225/45/17's for a new age.
If your running 18" then you need a lower profile tyre, like a 35 for a classic or a 40 for a newage

thanks that has answered a few questions, would have to change the tyres on the wheels to make them fit then?

I run sti wheels on my MY93 legacy and I have to run 215/45-17" tyres and they are very close to the rear arches and struts. I think 215/40-17" would be a better size for a classic Impreza though because they run a smaller rolling radius tyre than Legacy's/later Imprezas.

It won't be finished by then I haven't even mounted the intercooler yet and there's no way I'll get it back together by then If I come I might be able to bring a wheel for you to try and fit though.
