Bugeye calipers - 2 different materials??
Just spent the afternoon tarting up my ropey looking front calipers and have found that the inboard halfs resemble artifacts from the Titanic while the outboard halves just suffered a bit of surface corrosion.
Anyone know if they made the 2 halves of the calipers from different materials or did they just make a bit more effort manufacturing the visible halves?
Used the foliatec black paint kit (as supplied by another forum member) and they've come up lovely
Also need a recommendation for brake fluid for when I refit the calipers and bleed the system tomorrow. Dot 4 good enough or do I go for 5.1??

Its a know problem with them according to subaru. The fronts are prone to more heat and corrode easier than the rears. On the later models after the bug, they started painting the calipers red to over come the complaints!
It was only 2 months ago i was complaining trying to get them replaced but they work fine so no luck!
