Why's my 93WRX got vented disks all around?

Why's my 93WRX got vented disks all around?
I was told and read in a book that a MY93 WRX should have solid disks at the rear? doesnt look like a caliper up-grade but i cant really tell.
It was a fresh import when i got it so couldnt ask the previous owner, does any one know if its possible to put vented disks in the standard caliper or if they do have vented disks anyway.

Iv got a my93 WRX and that also has vented rear disks. When i bought it I thought the same but just took it as a bonus.
Would be intrested if any one knows also.

just i was reading this Haynes Book from Halfords that said that a MY93 WRX had solid rears, and some one else said that too.
anyone happen to know what size they are front and back?

well on the EBC site it says 94-9? is 277mm
and the rears are 260 i think.
i think i'll take a wheel off and measure mine to be on the safe side.

yea the EBC site says 277 front 266 rears but they're for 1994-1998 UK scoobies and it says the rears are solid. they dont have the sizes for Imports

sizes are exactly the same for the early WRX 277mm front vented and 266mm rear vented!!
the UK cars changed to a vented rear at 99 to match the JDM cars..........
