Default which tyres for a classic

guys tried to have a loo kand the search engine pulls up a blank,

i am running a 97 turbo 2000 ppp can anyone tell me which is the best tyre to put on it?

taking into consideration i value for money i have not got a budget but, i have spent alot on tyres before (on a front wheel drive car) and have just chewed through them i would like something that is going to last a bit.

to fit 17'' speedlines 205/ 45z/ r17

also is this the wrong and should be 40 not 45?

thanks

steve

I use Toyo T1-S. Superb in the dry, wet and as I've just found out, not bad in the snow and ice either!
I run 215/40/17 as opposed to your 205/45/17. Either will do, I just prefer the 215's because they leave a bigger foot print on the road, plus they have the lower profile for improved turn in. But, they are a bit stiffer, so have less ability to absorb bumps.
Swings and roundabouts really!
I hear the Goodyear F1 tyre is very good. Just don't buy Bridgestone Potenza's! Very over-rated in my opinion.
I'm sure someone will be along with some more info!
