Are you putting your foot on the clutch when you start the car up?

Firstly, welcome to the Scooby Net...you will never be alone! (you may or may not welcome that )
I have an Sti v3, 1997 and it behaves like that hot or cold starting, churn churn for about 3 secs then catches and runs.
Rest of the engine behaviour is great, just a bit of a dodgy start.

Depends where you are, but try to get it to a real specialist for an opinion; could save you some worry.

Graham.

had it to a subaru dealer and there technician said it was ok but with it still been under warranty it would cost me nothing to get it sorted but he said it didnt need changing thanks for the reply
