Question SQUEEKY BRAKES

MY02 STi UK, only covered 22000miles, original pads, original tyres, no accident damage, but suffering from squeeky brakes on light pedal pressure. the squekks disappear on heavy pressure. the dealer says i'm not driving the car hard enough to give the brakes a "good scrub"...this sounds like Bo**ocks to me. can any one help. i've been back to them several times but what ever they do only lasts for about 20 miles or so. do i need more copper ease or something called a shim kit?? my pads are about 50% worn (front).

dealer is probably right. Go and do a few 70-20 stops and feel the difference. The pads tend to glaze over slightly through lack of proper heating.
