P1 Brake Upgrade dealer rip off
Hi there,
I am new to the forum so be gentle with me. My wife is the very proud owner of a very nice P1 which we had the brakes upgraded to the Prodrive/Alcon system. The reason for this was after the test drive the standard barkes where how can I put it crap and I almost manged to kill us on a sharp right hander.
Reason for the post she has just come back from the local Subaru dealer with a £1000 pound bill for the replacement of the 2 330mm disks on the front and pads back and front which I think is a bit steep. So before I get hold of the service manager and tear him a new one, I was wondering if anyone out there know what the prices are for the ALCON disks and pads. Also what pads do they use as £147.44 per side is a bit steep I think or am I being a tight **** here.
Also before anybody points the finger and laughs that my wife drives the P1 some toe rag stole my Wagon.
thanks
MrTE

You've paid about the correct price for 2 new discs and pads all round inc fitting.
I see you're in Newbury. You should look up Len at Subaru 4 You for future servicing, upgrades, etc as he is in Newbury and an ex Subaru Technician and will provide a far better service and value for money than a main dealer.
Also look up www.hampshiresubaru.co.uk and www.southernscoobies.co.uk for a couple of local groups.
If you want any more advice on the P1 then just ask.
Cheers
