ABS question?
Hope someone can help with this?had abs warning light staying on intermittently so put the car(my96 uk impreza turbo)into local subaru dealer, after having the car for 2 days and charging me nearly £100 they diagnosed a g-sensor fault?which is supposed to be located under the handbrake.I sourced a sensor went to change it but couldn't find it!after a bit of research it seems early uk cars don't have g-sensors?has anyone got any ideas?or a wiring diagram?as i'm sorting this now myself!
Ive had a few abs faults with my 94wrx. Firstly the light was coming on now and again which was traced to a leaf in between the abs sensor and the toothed ring gear which can block the signal. Fixed easy enough but worth checking! But now my handbrake light stays on. Ive checked my fluid level and its fine but the still could be air in the system. My pads are due for a changing soon so what I but it down to is this: The abs actuator can only operate to a set pressure to release the pressure on the piston and is only designed for the piston to go out so far, so when your disc and pads are low its not opperating in its optimum designed tolerances which throws up this fault. at least I hope!!! Only time will tell but hopefully new pads and a bleed will cure it.
