not the cheapest mate. Try a selecta-tyre if you have one near you. I had mine (235/45/17) fitted, balanced etc for £70 +vat each, compared to the supply only price of mytyres which was ~ £83.

There are deals to be had....but yes, +1 vote from me for the T1-R's

Just put them on my motor mate. Not a direct comparison with my clio cup i know, but a tyre is a tyre. Had to replace them after being on a track day. First thought is they are great. Turn in is much improved due to the strengthend side walls on the R's. Good wet weather traction too. Full comparison will be made when I go back out on track in October, but defo thumbs up for me. Wanted R888's but was advised not to use them on the road even thoough they are road legal track boots!

Had F1's on my Integra Type R and did not like them. Good wet weather grip but poor dry and a quick wearing tyre too.

I too was going to fit the R888's, but I hear they wear very fast, and only have 4mm tread new. The T1-R's are a little less responsive than my old A046's, but they do have a good turn in. They are supposed to be quite greasy for the first hundred or so miles, then they just get grippier and grippier.

having used the T1-s, the T1-R and the Eagle F1 I would say that the Eagle F1 is definitely superior to the Toyo's. There may not be a great deal of difference between the T1R and the F1's but it is there. The benefit of the T1-R is that the edges are harder rubber than on the F1 and so will enable the tyre to last longer. Horses for Courses really. T1-R is deffo superior to the T1-S though. I found the T1-S very soft shouldered and easy to feather the edges on. None of these were on a subaru but the traits will be very similar. Hope that helps a bit!

Thought about Avon ZZ3's..?
Got a full set (215/45/17) fitted today for £320 inc vat, valves, balancing.
Got them from Tyreweb at Ashford. Excellent bunch there.
Will report back on handling in wet/dry when they've bedded in and it rains..!

I´ve got the Rs and the S´ both. The S-types are more noisy and the first rides are not very funny because of sliding. But then they get better and better. In wet conditions they are superior!
The R-tyres are more comfortable, the rest is the same. Price for this tyres is very good!

I have the T1-S and they are good in the dry.
In the wet i don't think they are all that, i have had the rear
break away on a couple of occasions.

As for the T1-R, they have stiffened up the side walls and added
a couple of water channels in the tread, i have no experience of
them on my car.

Try www.camskill.co.uk

I am using the T1-R's and have had them from new. As said, the first 200 or so miles are a little "less" grippy but after that they are really good. Very direct cornering and excellent wet weather performance. Highly recomended. I also got mine from camskill for £320 inc vat and delivery.

I have for the last 3 occasions got a price from www.mytyres.co.uk I then tel my local kwickfit for the same tyres told them I got the price locally "dident" and they did a price match, and I will continue to do it as long as I can, saved £100 per tyre on a set of 20" a while back, and £70 per tyre on a couple of 19" and £50 per tyre on a set of 17" works a treat

I've just has a set of T1-R's fitted today, bought them off mytyres.co.uk and has them fitted locally. Cost me £325 including fitting which I thought was very good.

I got 4 T1-R's fitted a month or so back. At first i hated them compared to the standard RE040's. They felt awful and gave away too much going into corners. Now after a good 3-4k on them im loving them. Loads of grip, quieter from inside the car and really good in the wet.

Agree with these comments, they are an excellent tyre, reasonable cost and similar in performance to the F1, IMO.

They seem to be lasting well too, over 10K and hardly any wear. 80% of my mileage is on the motorway though, the original Bridgestone's lasted 34K.......

I found the T1R's very slippy for the first few hundred miles or so - quite fun actually ! The stiffer side walls really sharpen up turn in. I have noticed the previously reported tearing sound when cornering hard on roundabouts, for example, but so what. I've just blasted home in the pissing rain with lots of standing water and they were brilliant, much better than the T1S. My drive home is down the A5 in North Wales so it's a really good test IMHO. I reckon that the new tyres, Eibachs and rear droplinks have added between 10-15 mph for most bends. I certainly get home quicker.
