rubbing noise from front left hand wheel
hi
i have a rubbing noise from my front n/s wheel . I have had my wheel off but i can not see anything that jumps out at me. There is a score on the inside of the disc. I think that the pads and disc need to be changed soon could this be the prob. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Not to technical as i only no a bit about cars thanks

Could be the wear indicator on the pads - there's a spring embedded in the pad.
I was told mine would need replacing soon, and after 1,000 miles or so there was a sort of ringing sound you could hear with the passenger window wound down.
I'm now booked in - garage recommended black diamond grooved discs and Mintex OEM pads

Recently my wife was complaining that on her 01 WRX she would sometimes hear a funny scraping sound, especially when exiting multi-storey car parks. When I checked, I found that her front O/S dust guard was 'just' touching the brake disc. When the front of the car was under load, the guard and disc would make better contact, causing a scraping sound. I simply bent the guard back to where it should be.
How the 2 came to touch I have no idea. Perhaps she ran over an EVO.
Hope this helps.
Jonty.
