Default EBC Turbo Groove disc coating

Just got front and rear sets of Turbo groove discs for my 99 turbo.
Opened them up and they were a goldie colour.
The instructions sya to remove the anti-corrosion film? Is this goldie coating the film? I've rubbed at them for a while with white-spirit as recomended and nothing seems to be happening?
thanks for any advice...
cheers

So you're not supposed to remove this finish then?

the anti corrosion film will just be a waxy or oily spray which will have come off by now with your cleaning.
the zinc coating will wear off on the braking surface as you bed the discs and pads in but should prevent rust on the areas that aren't in contact with the pads

You just supposed to clean (with brake cleaner) the area which is going to be in contact with the pads.

The finish remains the same.
