Unhappy HELP! Fitting Brembro gold 4 pots front! to MY99

Need help on this one, Got some sexy gold Brembro front 4 pots and 330mm disks to fit on my MY99. They look the same as the WR1. They looked the nuts when I picking them up but......

Firstly all 4 threads were cross threaded.....ok failed fitting attempt at garage, re-drilled and re-threaded, back again to fit.....wheels won't go back on!!!!!!!! So £160 and the £80 re-threading and the £800 for breaks and disks and I've lost my cool!!!!! The wheels are unique in that I would not change them for love or money, but I've got to let them go if I want to fit these breaks!!!

wors't is I need this sorted in the next 2 weeks as I'll need them for the ring!

The Wheels are 215/35/18 OZ gray superlegara's

What wheels should I fit now?

Offest of wheels to clear Gold Brembo's needs to be around ET45.
The standard subaru offset is ET51-53 depending on the wheel.

Prodrive supply special offsets of ET46 to clear the STi Gold Calipers.

I have the same problem on my MY00 I had 215/40/17s ET48 and needed 15mm Spacers so the wheels will clear the calipers, I was tolds I would need an ET of 36 to clear these calipers. Thing I don't understand is if I need ET36 why does the STi have ET53?

All the ET is , is a measurement in millimeters between the middle of the wheel and the hub face that sits against the disc , it all comes down to spoke shape then , if you have 2 wheels with the same ET , but one has the spokes curving in and the other spokes curving out then they would give you different clearances for brakes , basically , you need the right ET to have the wheels in the right place in the arch , to small an ET and the wheel will hang out the arch like Carlos Fandango ! to large an ET and the wheels sit in the arch too far and the wheel will foul the strut

These are the ones I am planning on getting as they do fit the classic with STi Brembos.

http://www.teamdynamics.de/produkte/...wahl=prorace12

This page is in Germany but Apparently you can get these wheels from TSL, they are really light and some of the cheapest I have found.

PS I am getting the gold ones

I came across the same problem . The only way to keep your super legerras and the brembos is to fit a 10mm spacer. Problem is no-one makes a 10mm spacer so i had them made with longer and stronger studs by a local engineer and mate. Will post a photo later but total sucess. No side effects other than a four wheel alignment needed. Done the four corners of course.

Unhappy £1500 down and still no breaks!

Hi all, after sounding depressed in my first post at the begining it has now gone to complete pot!!!!!

Well if you read the first link I don't need to fill you in.

I'll post this so this does not happen to any one else wanting BIG BREAKS!

The Gold Brembro's WILL FIT any Subaru.....thats correct

Wheels and offsets are different.....My 18" OZ Leggara's won't go on different offset.

05 STI Wheels with the correct offset won't go on because the stub pattern is completly different.

So there you have it.........

Finacily I'm in HOLE and £1500 has pushed my budget to high, I'm just going to improve the breaking some more with breaded lines good 5.1 fluid and good pads.....

So if you want to buy at set of brembro's ans STI wheels drop me a line.

The brembro's have done about 2000miles the seals are like new and the pads and disks have very little ware on them so they have been beded in together. They also come with some gorgeous 330mm disks with some sexy venting. I've been told there worth £1000 by them selves!!!!! They also come with breaded lines's too. I'll never see the money I've lavished on this but I am looking for £650-700 for the breaks.

These will fit if you extend the the studs and you have 17"+ wheels as stated in this link.....I'm flat broke so this will have to be completed by another.

The STI wheels are from the 05 and becase of the stud pattern they will only fit an 05...... unless some one can tell me diffrent. They have seen again 2000miles the chap told me and looking at the ware they look it. They come with Bridgestone tyres.....great for track days. I'm looking at £400-500

I can supply pics!!!!

the 05 STI has a totally different stud pattern as you've found.................any STi wheels from an 04 STi or older will work no problem...........
