The Brembos (certainly on the MY02STI) did this, I guess they still do???

I just live with it, but if you tap the brakes first time in reverse, it often stops subsequently

what causes this, is it just crap on the pads or discs?

I often get minor squeal from the rear. Dealer has tried to fix it several times with no joy. But with mine, it's the handbrake. I just pull up the handbrake lightly when in reverse and that seems to cure it. Then I try not to use the handbrake at all and always park in gear. Hardly ideal, but it works for me.

Richard.
