Question Side wall on michellin pilot ps2

I have heard that these tyres are the dogs dangleys. I would just like to know from people who have used them what the side walls are like.
I don't want the goodyear F1's as i like the turn in feel of the bridgestones but i want better wet grip. Is the sidewall on the Michellin quite hard or soft like the goodyears?

It is a hard side wall, you don't get that slop sideways going into corners you do with Goodyears and Toyos.

Need heat to get the best out of them mind, they can be interesting when they are cold

Ensure that you check the weight stamp on the tyre before you buy, depending on which car you have (and which tyre) you will need to keep to the same or a higher number, this number equates to the ammount of kg (its a code number so its not saying what the exact kg weight is) per corner that the tyre can take.
As for the bridgestones, you should try the RE070 an excellent tyre, wet or dry, its just the greasy stuff its not overkeen on.....

Is any tyre?
Also heard that the RE070 is very noisey which puts me off a little bit.

I heard that but when i put a set of STi wheels & RE070 tyres on my WRX i didn't notice any major difference from the RE050 tyres.

Yup they can be a bit noisy, thats due to the fact they are rock solid though they do tramline a bit when new in the wet (can be interesting until you wear them in a bit ) but considering what they are (semi slicks) they are extremely good

Tony

PS, nearly through my first set of RE070's and ill be getting another set

I have the PS2 225/40/18 in my WRX MY03 30000+km now and they still hold perfectly!
They have medium sidewalls except you buy them in 225/45/17 where they are quite softs IMHO (I have tried them with factory 17x7 wheels)!
Of course they are very quites compared with every other tire I have tried and stay more kms than Bridgestones and Toyos!
Have a look HERE

I got 4 x 225/40/18 on my car a couple of weeks ago. Done over 1000 miles whilst on holiday and the ride does seem quieter. Mine have 92Y rating extra load on them too. I had Toyo T1S before which I wasn't too happy about wet driving conditions. OEM RE050 in 17's before that. I've not had opportunity to try mine in wet condotions yet as only time it poured of rain during my holiday I was in town.

Certainly from my experience so far I can't complain and had Michelins on previous cars and never felt happier with them on except the old SO2PP's which are no longer made.

Andy.

PS. Jim gave me good advice about PS2's before I got mine too.
