ABS light has come on!!
As you may or not know i recently had a visit with a traffic island at about 35mph as a result of a long night shift followed by a long drive home!! Damage to scoob very minor, 2 bent alloys and damaged tyres. This was sorted with a quick trip to e-bay (£120 for refurbed alloys and new tyres, result!!). However the abs light has come on now, cars braking fine apart from obviously no abs. Any ideas what it might be and how to check? I know a trip to garage and a diagnostic is needed but wanted to see if theres a fix i can do if something simple. Ideas so far are speed sensors (?) and abs ring (????)

I would suggest to check the battery voltage as the ABS light will usually come on if the operating voltage has dropped.
I had the same problem with my previous car and after a couple of days the engine couldn't be started at all. The reason was a faulty alternator and the battery was not charging as it was supposed to do.
I hope that helps.

It's most likely the ABS sensor that's gone. I had the same on my old Impreza when I hit a boulder cunningly buried at the apex of a corner on a B road. Bad news is that it cost about £120 to get a new one and get it fitted I seem to recall, on top of the price for the new wheel/tyre and strut that was also needed!
