Post Rear pads

Are rear pads just as simple to change as fronts. I.E any problems to look out for? Cars a MY99 version 5 JDM.

Did my MY00 rear pads a few weeks ago - No problems. The fronts were a bit more difficult due to the 4 pots.

I changed the rear pads on my MY00 UK Turbo recently and the job was so pleasurable compared to the annoying MR2 Turbo I have. Kitted with single pot sliding calipers on the rear, the pistons just pushed back in. I did this a couple of times so it/they cleared the pad, rather than push it all the way in as far as it/they would go. Also did this with the brake fluid reservoir cap removed and used a length of hose and my finger tip to 'lift' out the excess fluid.

If the piston will not push in easily then use a G-clamp and a thin piece of wood on the piston and just tighten it up. It should slide in no problem. If it will not move you may have a siezed piston which can be a right b*stard to sort out (took me about 5 hours to unsieze mine ) As said above, make sure the reservoir cap is removed when you push the piston back in.
