If the piston will not push in easily then use a G-clamp and a thin piece of wood on the piston and just tighten it up. It should slide in no problem. If it will not move you may have a siezed piston which can be a right b*stard to sort out (took me about 5 hours to unsieze mine ) As said above, make sure the reservoir cap is removed when you push the piston back in.
