replacing pads on MY02

replacing pads on MY02
Doing as subject suggests, but a lip has formed on the outer edge of the disc due to oem pads being smaller than the disc??
Is it recomended to have this machined off before replacing the pads, or can I just let them bed in.
If I have them machined does anyone know the minimum depth of the disc before I should look at replacing it?
Thanks ,
Boultsy

Or take the corners off the new pads with a file (or angle grinder!) so they miss the lip, they'll bed in quicker that way. When they wear enough to reach the lip they'll bed in around that too.

thanks for the reply's people.
took another look at the wkend and I say there's just over a mm of wear, so pads for now and then maybe get in on the next godspeed group buy.
like the idea of the angle rinder chelspeed, might give it a shot.

If you do start angle grinding pads, wear a dust mask.
