Brake Squeal
Does anybody know what can cause my brakes to squeal.
Pads & discs look ok.
Brakes work fine but as the car is about to stop the breaks give of
a sqeal. It only happens below 5-10mph.
Any ideas ?

Brakes squeel, they do that
Best thing you can do is strip the pads out, give the pads and the calipers a good clean. Then smear a fine layer of copper grease on the back and side of the pad (not the friction material) et voila - no squeal

Mintex pads are bad for this I've found. If you're using Mintex, try changing to something else when they're due for renewal. I've now got Ferodo ds2500 and they're nice and quiet.

Assuming they were M1144, how do the DS2500's compare performance wise?
Not bothered about the squeal, I quite like it! Daz

no comparison at all between ds2500 and 1144.....................the ferodo's are around the 1155 performance wise, however have a much better initial bite!!
