Default BRAKE LIGHT

The handbrake light is staying on all the time. It started to go off when the car was warm, but now stays on all of the time. My car is a 2001 model year impreza.

Don,t have sensors in the brakes on a bugeye, just squeal indicators in the pads. And as the pads are'nt squealing it can't be that. Fluids not low either, i wonder if the handbrake shoes (DO THEY HAVE THEM?) might be sticking?
