Just had a 52000 service and was told I need some repairs this is what subaru told me

S/F F/DISCS + PADS - £195
R/PADS - £86
Clutch - £455

Are these good prices? They are including parts and labour. Not sure what to do, whether to go get these done, or buy the brakes and pads myself.

Can you get 'good' brakes/pads that wont brake the bank (mind the punn ).

The clutch I will have to get done somewhere, not checked round for prices yet.

Ive just bought a set of front discs, £80 all in, and a both sets of front and rear pads for £37 all in from my local motor factors. The rear pads are a peice of p**s, and im gonna take the front calipers off anyway, to fit the pads better, so It should be easy just to knock the front discs off!!! Dunno about the clutch though Make sure you've got a good socket set to remove the calipers, as the nuts will be solid (oooo eerrrrrrrr missus)

from memory it's 2 17mm bolts - and I'd strongly recommend sockets or a ring spanner to get them off - along with a few "taps" with a hammer and a tin of WD40.

You can do a lot better than the OE discs & pads and probably get change too - have a look on camskill's website for discs.

Motorsportworld.co.uk do an offer of half price Black Diamond pads when you buy discs, that you might want to check out - but I've got the black diamonds on now and I'm not that impressed - going for a set of EBC redstuff's at the weekend.

You can definately do the brakes yourself - but I wouldn't even attempt the clutch (I am not a mechanical genius) - try posting in drivetrain for some recommendations.
