Question McGard 'low profile' locking wheel nuts

Has anyone used the UHC cone seat lockers from McGard. They look shorter than the ones I have seen before (are designed to go under hub caps), I figure that they won't stick out much more than the OE Subaru wheel nut so look nice and discreet.

6th one down on this page.

nope, but it would be the M12X1.25 one you would need to fit a classic. Don't know if the newer shapes use the same thread.

Hi BrynO,

I've recently bought those from Halfrauds. (Part no. 24013 £29.99) The standard listed Impreza McGard set stick out too far.

I've also bought some very expensive (for plastic) MG covers for them, Part No. 70006, from Demon Tweeks. Halfords can't get the covers. I was charged £5.90 for the covers and 7.95 P&P all plus VAT!!

Regards,

Ian

Yep, I'm still pedalling a UK300 along! The standard McGard stick out to far on the UK300 OZ's.

BrynO, if the weather's kind this weekend, I'll take some pics with and without the covers.

Best regards,

Ian

Look good, better with the covers on for sure. Do you get a cover removal tool with them? I've got the same OE lockers on mine, but not got the tool for them.

Nope, no tool comes with them. I'd suggested using an oversized socket lined with insulation tape to prevent scratching the plastic covers.

Ian
