Question Pads for Brembo Brakes

Will need to change out the pads on my STi7 shortly. Anybody recommend a supplier of OE pads rather than through a Subaru gargage?

Whats the cost?

Also any recommendations re fitting mintex or other pads for better breaking effect??

I can recommend the new EBC Red Stuff Ceramics. Got them in my WRX 4 pots and they are superb. My mate also has them in his STi Brembo's and they are a huge improvement over the OE $h!te. Mintex can be noisy, Ferodo DS2500 very dusty and Pagid RS4.2.1 are very expensive. All are good pads, but for the £ you can't beat the EBC's IMHO.

Green stuff are not for heavy cars which are driven hard.

Many people opinions of EBC products are now very out of date. Even the Greens are now much improved, but the Red Ceramics E388 are really what you want in a hard driven Scoob.

The greens may be much improved Corrado boy but the ones I have on my car at the moment are utter crxp....im talking about on a heavy scooby here not every car. They really dont perform on the roads let alone the track or anywhere else. They will be changed very soon. My experience of red stuff was very good but wore out quickly 20 laps of the ring and a 1000 mile journey there and back. I will try the red ceramics next (on John's advice) ...but i sure wouldnt recommend green stuff IMHO of course

EBC have recently released a new version of the yellow pads since i wrote that report. I gave them a try at oulton park last week in my 200SX and on the stock 280mm disks and 4 pots (same pad/caliper as the MY99- Impreza) they were superb, much better than the yellows i tried last time with plenty of feel and stopping power. Even on such small brakes they didnt give me any issues with fade and still had enough meat on them to last another half trackday. This was on grooved and spotted disks with no aditional cooling, had i cooled the disks better the wear rates would have been lower.

I run ceramic reds front/rear on the road with this car and cant fault them.
