Default F1-GSD2 195/60 * 15"

Have been in to 2 tyre dealers this week to enquire about the price for Goodyear F1 GS2's. for my 2.0 Sport was bad news for me.
Both made calls to Goodyear and came back with the news that the F1-GSD2 has been discontinued in the 195/60 * 15" size.
From what they were told they have been discontinued for about a year, with no plans to bring them in as a GSD3.

The second place Micheldever Tyres have a pretty good reputation, and recommended Bridgestone RE720's. Has any else any experience of these?

Cheers Guy

Don't know about those tyres, but I use Micheldever and have no complaints about them at all - which is rare for me!

Last tyres I had and liked were Avon ZZ3's, which Micheldever didn't recommend, but I insisted and was very pleased with them. Car was a classic UK turbo, 215/40/17

Thumbs up

If you can go up to 205/60/15 then MyTyres have them, or 195/55/15.

Thanks for the replies guys, I emailed Goodyear themselves and got a reply.

Hello Guy

195 60 r 15 F1 GSD2 had a load and speed rating of 88V.

These are no longer available, however the tyres we now market in this size
with these same specifications are Eagle NCT 5 and Hydragrip.

We currently have available stock of the Hydragrip, which can be ordered
via any Hi Q/Motorway branch or your preferred dealer.
I hope this is some help to you.

Kind regards

Looks like it will be a matter of seeing whats available then and giving them a try

If you want tyres similar to the F1's, then look at...

Toyo Proxes....

or Vredestein UltraC....

My mate has the Vreds on his STi and rates them as significantly better than the Toyo's. I have just fitted the Vred Sportracs to my WRX PPP, 4x 215/45/17 for under £240 and they seem superb even on the dodgy road surface we have at the mo' (damp combined with previous gritting = driving on slurry). Understeer is greatly reduced, but I am a little concerned about the straight line (accel/braking) behaviour as the Sportrac has less lateral grooving than the Ultrac.

Sportrac....

Happy shopping

Cheers for that will take a look and see what sizes they come in

May consider some of these Firestone SZ50's which are meant to be available in a 195/60*15 they seem to have good reviews

Firestone are part of the Bridgestone group, so should share technology etc
