17's should fit a classic with no rolling of the arches, I run 17's on my own 95 wrx, I have a friend who runs the actual wheels your looking at on a 95 wrx and another m8 running 18's on his 95wrx.

I use toyo 215x45x r17 so I'd say yes they will fit.

if these wheels are of the current sti i think the offset will make them stick out to much and rub the arches

A wheels offset is the distance from the centre of the wheel to the face of the mounting hub.



Subaru's generally have a high offset of about ET53/55. Smaller then this pushes the wheel out from the body, usually get away with about ET45 depending on spoke design and caliper clearence
