start with grooved discs and Mintex 1144 , ferodo DS2500 or Pagid RS42 pads , or a bigger kit like the Godspeed 335mm kit to use with your standard calipers

I went for one just uprated pads (Ferodo DS2500) and Goodrich braided lines and there is a good improvement in braking over standard. I have an MY02 WRX.

I guess if you are planning track days as well then new discs may be in order. I think I will look at new discs next time.

Default brakes

Thanks for the details. I'm going to order ferodo ds2500 pads all around and brembo grN front discs :-) with braided lines, but it's difficult to get dot4 or 5.1 fluids for the brakes. wich one do you recommend?
