Is there any trick to this??? i have no idea....... just had the system bled and put 5.1 fluid in it...but the peddle feels a little too spongy for my liking.....is there anything i can do?

 

stick a full can of coke under the pedal, that'll do the trick!

or get some braided hoses fitted, it would also help the feel

Spomngy sounds like could be air still in there somewhere, braided lines will help, also if your car is the classic then you can get a 'brake support bracket' which basically makes the pedal like rock!!

 

are you meaning the pedal is more spongy than when you started??

then this needs rectifying straight away..............as Ron says still air in the system..................

Change to racing brake fluid, or, for road use, to Castrol SRF. Change the pads to Ferodo DS3000 and have the ABS taken out.

 

got ferodos, got racing fluid.....take the ABS out???? why would you do that?

 

Braided hoses would make a difference. I would not touch ABS, but that is my personal choice. It is there for a very good reason me thinks!

 

the issue would appear to be incorrectly bleeded brakes in that case then...................as above you must still have air in the system if you have a "spongy" pedal after all of the above...............??

Can you tell more about this support bracket?

 

Support bracket attaches itself to the rear of the master brake cylinder and strut. If you get someone to push down on the pedal, you'll notice the cylinder move forward. The bracket reduces this movement. Haven't tried it myself, so can't say if it actually firms up the pedal feel though.
