Default Brake Pads For 98 STI V4 Type R

Hi

I'm not sure if this is a common thread but recently I've been looking for brake pads for a 1998 Impreza STI Version 4 Typr R.

So far I've had:

Mintex MDB1416 or MDB1688 or MDB1794 (Front)
Mintex MDB1999 or MDB1497 (Rear)

Each of these with then different compounds 1144, 1155, 1166.

Ohh and apparently the above brake pads squeal alot.

I can't believe it's this different to find a brake pad!!!

Can anyone please help me?

Speak to Alyn at www.asperformance.com and he will give you some good prices for the correct pads for your car. Mintex are ok, the higher the number the harder the pad so it depends on how hard you are on brakes. Another alternative is Ferodo 2500.

Oh and this thread should have gone in the Technical section under - Wheels tyres and BRAKES

Dave.

Pagid 4.2.1, Mintex 1155 & 1166, Fedodo DS2000 & 2500 are all good pads, some dustier and / or noisier than others, and some variance in cold and hot use.

Alyn will help I am sure.
