Default Just changed brake pads and now....eeek!

Just changed pads on my daily drive (MY00 Astra Sri) and now every time I hit the brake pedal, my foot goes to the floor.

I guess squeezing the piston in has caused this?

Is the answer a brake bleed? Not the end of the world as it has never had one. How would I avoid doing this again? It's never been a problem with the Porsche.

have you tried "pumping" the pedal to see if this returns??
there was an issue with vauxhalls a while ago that allowed the seals in the master cylinder to "turn" when the pads were retracted!!
an "eazi-bleed" type pressure bleeder would sort the job out!!
