Just recently been thinking about getting one of these brake servo support bracket thingies, looked at a few pics, and decided I could make my own, what d'you reckon, it's supprising how well it works, really firms up the pedal!!

I've been meaning to ask a m8 to try making one for me. Was there much to it or just a bit of trial and error with the lengths and bends in the metal?

All you need is the ability to cut and bend a bit of metal, half the battle was working out which holkes and captive nuts in the strut tower to use, oh, and finding bolts with the right thread!!
The fat bit does most of the work, but the thinner bit braces it to stop it bending, and obviously the bolt is adjustable.
Took about 2 hours from start to finish!

 

Where did you get the bolts for the strut tower and what are their specs?

 

Found em in the garage in a box of bolts, not a clue on spec, but, they are the same as the ones that hold the alarm bracket and boost gubbins to the inner wing!!
Saying that, only two were captive nuts, ones was a nut and bolt, the furthest one away in the first pic!
The angled bracket wasa bit fiddly, you have to 'bend' the brake pipes very slightly!

 

In the photo, is that nut/bolt just pressed up against the end of the brake cylinder, or have you attached the bolt to the end of the cylinder somehow?

it's just adjusted up tight up to the end of the cylinder, just like the ones you can pay real money for!!

 

I keep meaning to make one of these can you post any rough dimensions? has anybody else done similar ?

 

To be honest, I never measured it, I made another one and gave it to a guy for 'testing' that way I have two on trial.
If you handy with a bit of metal and a hammer, you should be able to figure it out, I had nothing to go on, I just guessed!!
