I've had the GSD2's and now the GSD3's on my car.

The 3's have slightly more give at first but then seem to hold on better in the dry and they seem a lot more positive in the wet for me, really inspire confidence when your going round a corner and think it's on the limit and just push a little harder to see - but they still grip (until you finally do that process once to many times on a very long corner and end up sideways at the end joining a motorway normally)

Dont the threes have something like three sidewall belts for stiffness and the twos only had two. I may be wrong but i'm sure i was told that

I notice on the Goodyear UK website, it says they are also available with as "run flat tyres" as well (225/45/17; MY03/04 STI OEM size).

Anyone know about this?

topgear.co.uk have got the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD2 86W too (£61.48).

My question is what's the difference between them and the Goodyear Eagle F1 88W apart from 12 quid???

Hmmm?

Tread pattern is noticeably different. Also, rumour has it that the GSD2 are a slightly harder compound - i.e. a little less grip, but a bit more life. I got nearly 18k out of a set of 2's, and that was with plenty of enthusiastic use.

Hades,

Surely nobody can get 18k out of a set of tyres unless they roll down a lot of hills!!!
