Wink max tyre size

I currently run 215/35/18s on superlggeras on a 200 spec Classic. Can I successfully fit 225 tyres (maybe 225/40/18) without them rubbing everywhere?

ta, Burb

No need to be offensive, just need to be patient.

Got 225 tyres on 18s on a MY99 Wagon.
They do catch on the rear arches when with a couple in the back or when motoring around rounabouts.
I'm probably going to go to 215s next, or even 17s?

I had 225/35/18 on my P1 as standard, but they did rub on the rear arches if u had people in the back. Otherwise they were fine.

or just don't bother taking passengers in the back

Not had any rubbing on my RB5 with 225/35/18's on the Oz P-WRC1 alloys.

Wink

Ta chaps,

I rarely take passengers in the back, but I cannot bear that graunching sound of tyres rubbing arches if I am to give some fatties a lift.

I have 225/35/18's on my 98 wrx & they rubbed untill I rolled the rear arches.

I've driven the car with both 215/35/18 & 225's and found the ride far superior with 225's so definately worth the hassle of rolling the arches if your going for 18's.
