to groove or not
I need to replace the pads and discs on my 93 wrx due to warped discs. Is it worth getting grooved discs like black diamond etc. Is there any big advantage over standard or should i just get a good quality o/e replacement disc and decent pads such as mintex. Just wondering if there`s any point spending the extra dosh.

I'm sure you are already aware but here goes,
The grooves do 2 things. They deglaze the pad surface to allow new friction material to make contact with the discs surface and expell the gas that builds up between the pads and discs that would normally force the 2 apart ie brake fade.
Hope it helps.

The new Mintex / C-Tech disks are excellent. They are grooved and dimpled (rather than drilled) and come in a lovely blue colour (which lasts for about three seconds)
