Cheap brake pads: not that cheap!!
Bought some Mintex pads for an astounding £24, locally. Great, thinks I.
Unfortunately, when I got the old ones off, the spring shims were rusted so badly they had to be replaced, and there were no new ones in the pad box.
Result? A visit in the lad's car to a dealer 30 miles away, and four shims bought at a massive £4.47 + VAT each!!!!!!!!!!
Add to that, the cost of having to top up the kid's car, and I'm out of pocket!
