MY03 STI brakes...?
Team
The brakes on my STI are crap.... does anyone else think so...
Poor pedal feel, very wooden, i can get them to fade in 3-4 corners... have to input way too much force to get any retardation...
Hopeing that a new set of pads will change this; but as it is my Diesel Clio has much better brakes! believe it or not it does... it stops almost as well as my old BM 330 and that had the best feeling brakes i've felt on any car...
Please tell me some decent pads will sort this otherwise its going to be an expensive brake swap...
Thanx ...

I half agree - I wouldn't say they were crap, not bad brakes, but after going over to AP's there's no turning back to Brembo for me. But they do cost a good bit.
I'm not someone who uses brakes a lot in my driving style (after 22K miles I've used less than 25% of my pads - the discs are more worn in comparisson), but when I use them I tend to really use them and the AP's do me proud there unlike the Brembos, so it could well be your driving style if it's anything like mine

Dazza, have to agree with you mate. I also reckon the brakes on my 03STi are pretty pants - huge amounts of pedal travel and little feel means I always end up braking miles before I should need to Have even upgraded pads to Pagid rs421's but this only makes things better when you really stamp on them. Currently thinking about upgrading the disks and see if this helps.
Maybe I had too much of a good thing with the AP's on my old P1. Wish I had kept them
