Default 17" wheels off MY02 etc on a Classic

Will a set of wheels and tyres off a MY02 car with 215-45-R17 tyres fit a classic MY99 Turbo. I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times before, but do they fit and if not why not - what do they catch!?

Basically they fit, but some people have a small amount of trouble with them catching, but lots of people have them with the 45 profile tyres, the ideal size is 215/40 17, best to get that size when the 45's wear out!!

Do they catch that bad or is it just a slight scuff of the arch every now and again!? Front or back? Or does it catch the suspension!?

Normally 'if' they catch, it's the rears on the arch.

225's (from sti)are prone to catching, I've had no problems at all with the standard 215/45/17s from the new wrx as fitted to my classic, have since replaced the tyres with 215/40/17s and still no probs.

Hope this helps
