What are your cures?
Right ive totally had it with my brakes.
Brake dust is a total nightmare for me and the ammount of dust that is collected on a 5 mile journey is horrendous to say the least.
I recently got some prodrive 18" alloys and its a nightmare keeping them clean.
Fair enough i cant expect to have my alloys "like new" but it just seems for me that i am having more dust than is norm.
Even if im driving like a granny dust still collects in no time at all.
So has anyone got any cures on what i could do that will solve this dilema or is it a thorn in the side scenario?
My only option at present is to get a power washer at home and clean my wheels every other day.
The brake dust is really that bad seriously!!!
Anyhow any ideas peeps?

Are the 5 miles driven through a dirt track by any chance or does your neighbour have exactly the same wheels as you have and his are always clean after you wash yours (a locking wheel nut should fix that then)???
What pads have you got on there now? The EBC Reds are good for brake dust I've heard, the Mintex ones aren't bad either, but have a tendancy to squeak a little on some cars after a bit of mileage.
I do about 500-750 miles in mine each week and I can still get away with cleaning the wheels only once per week (I use DS2500's), the power washer does the job every time with this frequency (with a little help from a wheel cleaner on the stubborn stains).

why not wax the alloys? won't stop your brake dust build up, but sure is a hell of a lot easier when cleaning.
you can get special wheel wax, but i just use normal polish wax or even back to black silicone spray.
dust can simply be wiped off or even blown off if you've got access to an airline (just don't breath when you do this)
