4 pots help
Traded in my 2 pot 97 scoob for a 4 pot 2000 this week. Thought the brakes would be much better but sadly they feel worse.
Assuming car has stood on forecourt for several weeks and discs have started to corrode how many miles to clean them up and get a "good" brake feel again?
Anyone else had similar experience? If I don't want to spend a lot of money whats the best disc pad setup on standard calipers?
Cheers
Mike

Brake fluid may be cactus (or a bleed may fix things), also if your previous car had steel-mesh brakelines the feel would be very different, too.
Yet another bit to look at may be the pads - if they are well worn, the pedal travel can get long and spongy.
Hope this helps a tad.

Cars only done 13k miles so dics and pads are in very good condition. Lots of pad left and only a small lip on discs. Brake pedal travel is minimum and feels solid but brakes don't seem to bite until you press v.hard. I know scooby brakes aren't up to much but the brakes on a Laguna are better than these.
If things don't improve I'll ask dealer to sort it under warranty. If this fails then uprated discs and pads would be good but this would probably invalidate the warranty (2 yrs remaining).
